Discord API errorsand how to fix them.
When Discord rejects a request, Siar stores the network's own code and message on the post and returns it to you unchanged, so what you read here matches what you see in the API. Back to the Discord API.
Where a code is shown it is the network's own code or HTTP status. Messages are abridged where Discord's text is long.
50013
Message
Missing Permissions
What it means. The bot (or its role) lacks a permission in that channel, e.g. Manage Webhooks or Send Messages.
How to fix it. Grant the Siar bot role View Channel, Send Messages, Attach Files and Manage Webhooks in the channel.
50001
Message
Missing Access
What it means. The bot cannot see the channel or server (removed, or the channel is private to other roles).
How to fix it. Re-invite the bot, or give its role access to the channel.
10003
Message
Unknown Channel
What it means. The channel was deleted.
How to fix it. Choose another channel (refresh channels first).
10015
Message
Unknown Webhook
What it means. The Siar webhook was deleted in Discord.
How to fix it. Nothing: Siar creates a new webhook and retries once.
10008
Message
Unknown Message
What it means. The message was already deleted in Discord.
How to fix it. Nothing to delete.
50035
Message
Invalid Form Body
What it means. A field was rejected, usually content over 2000 characters, more than 10 files, or a username containing "discord" or "clyde".
How to fix it. Shorten the text, send at most 10 files, change the username.
40005
Message
Request entity too large
What it means. A file or the whole upload is over the server's upload limit (10 MB unless the server is boosted).
How to fix it. Compress the file or post a link.
429
Message
You are being rate limited.
What it means. Webhooks allow about 5 requests per 2 seconds per webhook; retry_after says when.
How to fix it. Retry after retry_after seconds (Siar does).
401
Message
401: Unauthorized
What it means. The server's bot token is wrong or was reset.
How to fix it. Ask the Siar operator to update NETWORK_DISCORD_BOT_TOKEN.
Where to see an error
Read a failed post with GET /post/{id}: the error field summarises it, errors lists it per network and errorsVerbose keeps the detail. A post.published webhook fires when the post reaches a final state. Retry with POST /post/{id}/retry. Limits that Siar enforces itself are on the Discord page.
